Getting Started with Wishlist Lab

This guide helps you get up and running with Wishlist Lab after installation.

1. Complete onboarding

When you first open the app, you’ll go through a short onboarding flow. It typically includes:

  • General settings – Turn the app on and choose options like guest wishlist, wishlist count, multiple wishlists, share wishlist, and subscribe wishlist (depending on your plan).
  • Reminder setup – Enable and configure reminder events (e.g. wishlist added, wishlist reminder, price drop, restock).
  • Widgets – Confirm or install the storefront widgets (product button, collection button, cart “Save for later”, header menu, etc.).

Finish each step and complete onboarding so the app is fully active on your store.

2. Install widgets on your theme

Wishlist buttons and the wishlist page need to appear on your store. You can:

  • Use the automatic setup if the app supports theme app extensions or auto-injection for your theme.
  • Use manual installation – copy the code snippets from Installation in the app and add them to the right theme files (e.g. main-product.liquid  , header.liquid  , main-cart-items.liquid  ). See Widget Installation for details.

3. Configure reminders and email

To send reminder emails (wishlist reminder, price drop, back in stock, etc.):

  • Go to Settings → Reminder and enable the events you want (e.g. Wishlist Added, Wishlist Reminder, Price Drop, Restock). Set delay (e.g. hours) and any limits.
  • Go to Settings → Sender and choose a transactional provider (and optionally a marketing provider) so the app can send emails. Connect the provider (e.g. Mandrill, or an integration like Klaviyo/Omnisend if used for transactional sending).

4. Customize look and emails (optional)

  • Templates → Store Widgets – Customize the look of the wishlist button, wishlist page, popups, and notifications.
  • Templates → Email Templates – Edit the design and content of reminder emails (Wishlist Reminder, Price Drop, Stock In/Out, etc.).

For step-by-step widget code and file names, see Widget Installation.
